We are a business development company that works to meet the needs and challenges of today's artists + creatives. Most clients we work with are independent, freelance, with multiple side-hustles. We work with people from all types of artist disciplines and creative backgrounds to bridge the gap of business knowledge.
We believe that through the practice and application of best business & entrepreneurial practices artists + creatives free themselves to create their best work. We will work with you to a unique create framework with expectations that encourages the accountability needed for growth.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Through one-on-one meetings, workshops, panels, and special events we have found that artists have what it takes to have a thriving business that generates income.
ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS - these are usually in person or over the phone to establish a plan of action and gain accountability.
WORKSHOPS - we host intimate workshops where are we work hands-on to grow in practical business knowledge.
PANELS - by bringing in experts we have seen tangible increase in confidence and understanding of industry practices.

Some of the business elements of pursuing a career in the arts can be pretty exciting. Finding solid representation, seeing your work showcased on professional platforms, creating a totally on-brand website, formalizing your business bank account …But there’s another piece of the puzzle I’ve been reminded of over the last few months at Mischief Managed: don’t forget the art part.
Since starting as Marketing Coordinator for Mischief Managed this fall, I’ve worked with a number of Mischief Managed clients to help shape their online footprints and hone their personal stories. Through the process, I’ve been inspired by our clients’ creativity and resolve and have learned a lot about the challenges facing freelance artists.
