Meaghan Maples
BIO:
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Meaghan Maples grew up singing in classical choral and gospel settings, honing her live performance chops before she was tall enough to ride a rollercoaster. She loves creating intimate and unique live performance settings, and often chooses to throw her own events to make sure that her fans get to feel a sensation of inclusivity, and heartfelt empowerment. She has had a successful career as songwriter/sync artist (Mama Haze), but is now re-claiming her talent for herself, going by her given name, and focusing on making music that she truly loves. Meaghan describes the material as being "less pop and less noisy, and there's something really special and raw about it... It genuinely feels like an artistic rebirth."
Meaghan Maples was just featured on NPR (both radio interview & blog on 9/27) for her latest single/the title song from her next EP "On Your Side”. The song was a standout entry in the 2020 Tiny Desk Contest", earning her a spot in the very first episode of Tiny Desk Contest Top Shelf . A trained gospel vocalist Meaghan effortlessly floats through her performances, and makes it clear that she has the potential to be a real career artist, and someone that stands out both on record & on stage. All three songs on the EP were recorded live at a ceramics studio in San Diego in one take, and will be released via Over Everything (a non-profit label/artist empowerment organization) on Oct 10th.
